About Señor Idrovo

Señor Idrovo is a graduate of Pace University where he received his MST in Adolescent Education with a concentration in Spanish. He also attended SUNY New Paltz where he graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Spanish Language, Culture and Literature and a Minor in Latin American and Caribbean Studies.

I am a Native Spanish Speaker whom was born and raised in the Westchester community and attended New York Public Schools as I grew up. As I attended school, I recognized the value of learning a second language as well as the vast amount of cultural knowledge that it can bring. Growing up in an Ecuadorian household helped me understand the important connection between language and culture which drove me to want to study these kinds of connections in college.

After graduating, I began my work in the teaching field by teaching ESL to international students of mulitple countries and proficiency levels at EF International Langauge Academy. During my time here, I was able to practice how to integrate American culture into the classroom along with teaching the English language. I plan to acheive the same goal within our own classroom.

Learing a language isn't only about learning how to say a word correctly or how to write something with perfect grammar. It's about taking the language and making it a part of yourself through dedication and true care for the work you do.
